At Lazerpay, one of the questions we ask ourselves is how crypto can work for everyone regardless of gender. One of such ways is through education and particularly women’s education.

Every year, the month of March is  regarded as Women’s month and 8th of March is widely celebrated as International Women’s Day. This year, in honor of the International Women’s day, and Women’s month, we are happy to announce that we have partnered with SheCodeAfrica to empower and educate more women developers and aspiring female blockchain developers.

Why we partnered with SheCodeAfrica

Breaking the bias of gender inequality can only be achieved by collective action and actively investing in programs that educate and empower them with tools they need to succeed. SheCodeAfrica is a reputable non-profit organisation focused on celebrating and empowering young girls and women in tech across Africa. They are creating an inclusive community for young girls and women in tech across Africa and we at Lazerpay have found the work they do very inspiring and an initiative we want to be associated with.

Breaking Gender Biases with Crypto

To expand the scope of the good work Ada and her amazing team at SheCodeAfrica are doing, we have partnered with them to empower them accept donations globally with crypto. This was made possible by our donations link feature. With Lazerpay’s Donations feature, SheCodeAfrica can now seamlessly receive donations in crypto stablecoins like USDT, USDC, BUSD and DAI from anywhere in the world and receive payouts in any chosen fiat currency of their choice.

Furthermore, Lazerpay is proud to be one of the sponsors of SheCodeAfrica’s International Women’s Day Event coming up on the 19th of March. The sponsorship funds will be going into purchasing online courses, internet access, computer gadgets, and other essentials for hundred of women.

We are also proud to announce a donation of 1 million Naira to their Laptop Scholarship fund, this means that more women who have been pursuing careers in tech but haven’t had the opportunity due to lack of proper devices can now do so easily.

Achieving gender equality is not a day’s job and it certainly isn’t going to be done by one person, this is why we’re imploring everyone to please contribute to the awesome work SheCodeAfrica is doing by making a donation today.
